Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Gynecologist: MD/MS in Specialist concerned/DNB
• Medical Officer: MBBS. Preferable additional qualification in medicine/surgery
• Dental Officer: MDS/BDS. Registered in state/central Dental Council
• Nursing Assistant: GNM Diploma/Class 1 NA Course (Armed Forces)
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician: Diploma holder in Dental Hygienist/Class-I DH/DORA. Registered in state/central Dental Council
• Laboratory Technician: B.Sc (Medical Lab/Technology) or 10+2 with Science and DMLT
• Pharmacist: B.Pharma or 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and Diploma in Pharmacy. Registered as Pharmacist under Pharmacist Act 1948
• Physiotherapist: Diploma/Class 1 Physiotherapy Course (Armed Forces)
• DEO/Clerk: Graduate/Class-1 Clerical Trade (Armed Forces)
• Driver: Class 8th/MT Driver (Armed Forces). Possess a civil driving license (LMV)
• Female Attendant: Literate Lady
• Safaiwala: Literate

Experience

• Gynecologist: Minimum 03 years in the specialty after Post Graduation
• Medical Officer: Minimum 03 years experience after internship
• Dental Officer: Minimum 03 years work experience for BDS. No work experience required for MDS
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician: Minimum 05 years work experience/experience in Dental Laboratory
• Laboratory Technician: Minimum 03 years work experience as a Lab Assistant in Medical Laboratory
• Nursing Assistant: Minimum 05 years work experience
• Pharmacist: Minimum 03 years work experience
• Physiotherapist: Minimum 05 years work experience
• DEO/Clerk: Minimum 05 years work experience
• Driver: Minimum 05 years work experience as driver
• Female Attendant: Minimum 05 years experience in Civil/Army Health institutions

Salary/Stipend

For Civilian Candidates

• Gynecologist: Rs 1,30,000/- per month
• Medical Officer: Rs 95,000/- per month
• Dental Officer: Rs 95,000/- per month
• Nursing Assistant: Rs 36,500/- per month
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Tech: Rs 36,500/- per month
• Lab Technician: Rs 36,500/- per month
• Pharmacist: Rs 36,500/- per month
• Physiotherapist: Rs 36,500/- per month
• DEO/Clerk: Rs 29,200/- per month
• Driver: Rs 25,600/- per month
• Female Attendant: Rs 21,800/- per month
• Safaiwala: Rs 21,800/- per month
• Peon: Rs 21,800/- per month
• Chowkidar: Rs 21,800/- per month

For Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Candidates

• A fixed monthly amount shall be admissible as remuneration during the contract period, arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement or fixed remuneration (whichever is higher)
• Traveling allowance at the rate applicable at retirement is also admissible with the present Dearness Allowance as per Central Government

Contract Terms

• Contract period of one year renewable for additional period of one year subject to performance/other conditions
• Civilian candidate if selected in lieu of ESM reserve vacancy will be eligible to serve only for 11 months from date of appointment
• The contractual employees will not be entitled to any allowances, financial benefits or concessions as admissible to Government employees

Age Limit (as on 01/04/2026)

• Gynecologist: Should not have completed 70 years
• Medical Officer: Should not have completed 68 years
• Dental Officer: Should not have completed 65 years
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Tech, Lab Technician, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist: Should not have completed 58 years
• DEO/Clerk, Driver, Chowkidar, Peon, Female Attendant, Safaiwala: Should not have completed 55 years

Important Dates

Selection Process

• Selection will be through Interview only
• Interview will be conducted in first week of March 2026
• Final date will be intimated by 24 February 2026 on individual email and notice board of Station Cell ECHS Kolkata
• Interview venue: Station Cell (ECHS) Kolkata, Headquarters Bengal Sub Area, 246 AJC Bose Road, near SSKM Hospital, Alipore, Kolkata-27
• Candidates must reach interview location by 0830 hrs on interview date
• Only candidates meeting the Qualitative Requirements may apply
• Candidates who were earlier employed in ECHS but whose services were terminated/not extended for second year employment need not apply

General Information/Instructions

Posting Locations

• 4 ECHS Polyclinics under Station Cell Kolkata: Kolkata, Salt Lake, Howrah and Baruipur
• All employees may be employed or transferred to any Polyclinic under Station Cell (ECHS) Kolkata for temporary period or entire period
• Choice of Polyclinic given is only a choice and candidates agree to work in any polyclinic where they may be appointed

Reservation for Ex-Servicemen

• 60% reservation: Gynecologist, Medical Officer, Dental Officer
• 70% reservation: All other posts including Dental Assistant, Lab Technician, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, DEO/Clerk, Driver, Female Attendant, Safaiwala, Peon, Chowkidar

Working Hours

• General Staff: 48 hours per week (8 hours x 6 days) from Monday to Saturday. Sunday will be holiday
• Specialists (Medical Specialist & Gynecologist): 30 hours per week (5 hours x 6 days) from Monday to Saturday. Sunday will be holiday

Leave

• Admissible 2.5 days/1.5 days as applicable for every completed month during contractual period
• Leave will lapse if accumulated at the end of six months
• Accumulation period: 01 April to 30 September and 01 October to 31 March next year

Termination of Services

• Contract can be terminated by either side by giving one month's notice

On-the-Job Training

• Selected Medical Officer, Dental Officer & Gynecologists have to undergo 10 days OJT (On-the-Job Training) without any financial benefits for assuming charge as contractual employee

Important Instructions

• Lack of any requisite document will render candidate ineligible for interview
• No TA/DA is admissible for attending interview
• Candidates must carry original Degree/Certificates at time of interview
• Two passport size photographs required at interview
• Medical Fitness Certificate mandatory from registered doctor
• Candidates must not be holding any other office of profit/employed by any other organization
• Candidates must not have any employment or stake in any ECHS empanelled medical facility or hospital
• Services must not have been terminated on discipline grounds from any ECHS establishment
• Must not have been denied second year extension of ECHS contract for being unsuitable

                                                     ECHS Kolkata Recruitment 2026

• Salary ranges from ₹21,800 to ₹1,30,000 per month depending on the post. Gynecologists receive ₹1,30,000, Medical and Dental Officers get ₹95,000, Para-medical staff receive ₹36,500, DEO/Clerk get ₹29,200, Drivers receive ₹25,600, and support staff get ₹21,800 per month for civilian candidates

• Age limit as on 01 April 2026: Maximum 70 years for Gynecologist, 68 years for Medical Officer, 65 years for Dental Officer, 58 years for para-medical staff (Dental Assistant, Lab Tech, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist), and 55 years for non-medical staff (DEO, Clerk, Driver, attendants).

• The last date for receipt of application is 18 February 2026 at 1800 hrs. Applications must be submitted to OIC Station Cell (ECHS) Kolkata by registered post or by hand. Lack of any requisite document will render candidate ineligible for interview.
