The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination 2026, inviting applications for approximately 2,536 Group C posts of Lower Division Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDC/JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) across various Central Government Ministries and Departments. Eligible 12Th-pass candidates can apply online from 07 September 2026 to 07 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification (As on 07-10-2026)
For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC, and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics from a recognized Board.
For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (other Departments): 12th Standard or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or University. Candidates awaiting 12th Standard results may also apply, subject to possessing the qualification by the cut-off date.
Age Limit (As on 01-08-2026)
- Age Limit: 18 to 27 years
- Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10-15 years), and Ex-Servicemen as per Government norms
SSC CHSL Salary Structure 2026
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-2 to Level-5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (₹19,900 – ₹92,300) depending on the post, along with applicable Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other Government benefits.
Selection Process for SSC CHSL 2026

- Tier-II (Computer Based Examination, including Skill Test/Typing Test)

Scheme of Examination & Syllabus
Tier-I: 100 questions (200 marks) covering English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness, in 60 minutes with sectional timers. Negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
Tier-II: Conducted in two sessions on the same day – Session-I covers Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, and a Computer Knowledge Test; Session-II consists of the Skill Test (for DEO posts) or Typing Test (for LDC/JSA posts), both qualifying in nature.
Registration/Examination Fee: ₹100/-. Women candidates and SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates eligible for reservation are exempted from the fee.
