    Eligibility Criteria – RRC WR Apprentice Recruitment 2026

    Educational Qualification

    Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) under the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board. Additionally, candidates must hold a valid ITI certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible to apply under this notification.

    • Minimum Age: 15 Years
    • Maximum Age: 24 Years (General/UR)
    • SC/ST candidates: Upper age relaxed by 5 years
    • OBC candidates: Upper age relaxed by 3 years
    • Persons with Disabilities (PwBD): Upper age relaxed by 10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: Upper age relaxed by 10 years + length of military service + 3 years (subject to conditions)

    Stipend / Salary Structure – RRC WR Apprentice 2026

    Selected candidates will be paid a stipend during the one-year training period as per the extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time. The stipend is linked to the applicable pay scale for Level-1 posts (Pay Scale: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900).

    Note: Apprenticeship training does not guarantee employment in Railways. After successful completion, candidates will receive a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC), which provides a 20% preference in Level-1 direct recruitment vacancies.

    Selection Process – RRC WR Apprentice 2026

    1. Merit List Preparation: Based on the average of percentage marks in Matriculation and ITI (equal weightage to both). Minimum 50% in Matriculation is mandatory.
    2. Tie-breaking: If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate gets preference. If DOB is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier gets priority.
    3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called to the respective Division/Workshop for original document verification.
    4. Medical Fitness: Candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate signed by a Government-authorised Gazetted Doctor (not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon) from a Central/State Government Hospital.

    There is no written test or viva.

    1. Visit the official website: https://www.rrc-wr.com
    2. Click on the Apprentice Recruitment 2025–26 Notification link.
    3. Register with a valid personal Email ID and Mobile Number (must remain active throughout the process).
    4. Fill in personal details, trade, Aadhaar number (12-digit), marks/CGPA, and choice of Division/Workshop carefully.
    5. Upload self-attested scanned documents as required (photo in JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20–70 KB; signature in JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20–30 KB).
    6. Pay the application fee (if applicable) through the integrated payment gateway.
    7. Download and retain a printout of the submitted online application.

    Note: Candidates can apply for only one Division/Workshop. Candidates holding ITI in more than one trade may submit separate applications for each trade.
