Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Matriculation and hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT (formerly NCTVT) in the relevant trade as shown in the vacancy table. Only citizens of India can apply.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 35 Years (General candidates, as on the last date of receipt of application)

AWEIL AWTM Ichapur Salary and Benefits 2026

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary that includes Basic Pay as per existing CPC (Level-1) and Dearness Allowance as per government rules. The notification does not state a fixed rupee amount.

• Remuneration is calculated at 1/30th of the basic pay plus DA per day for 8 hours of work, with proportionate deduction for unauthorized absence
• House Rent Allowance is paid if company quarters are not provided
• Annual increase of 3% on Basic Pay, subject to satisfactory performance
• Performance is reviewed half-yearly; poor performance is given 3 months to improve
• EPF benefits as per law, and coverage under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923

• Safety and protective gear as per company norms; company quarters where available
• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 6 days a week (48 hours a week)
• Not eligible for promotion, overtime allowance, loans and advances, medical facilities, LTC/LTA, study leave, school fee reimbursement or sponsorship for higher studies

Selection Process for AWEIL AWTM Ichapur Recruitment 2026

1. Shortlisting based on marks scored in the NCVT trade examination (cut-off decided by AWTM Ichapur)
2. Trade Test / Practical Test conducted by AWTM Ichapur
3. Merit list prepared on combined marks of NCVT exam (80%) and Trade Test (20%)
4. Document Verification in order of merit, limited to the number of posts notified (trade and category wise)
5. Medical fitness test before joining

Tie-breaking order: (i) Ex-Trade Apprentice of Gun & Shell Factory Kashipur, (ii) Ex-Trade Apprentice of other Ordnance Factories, (iii) higher NCVT marks, (iv) older candidate.

Scheme of Examination and Syllabus

There is no written examination. Candidates qualifying the NCVT marks cut-off will be called for a practical Trade Test at AWTM Ichapur. Weightage is 80% for NCVT marks and 20% for the Trade Test. No separate syllabus has been published; the test is based on the candidate's applied trade. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by post or e-mail.
