Eligibility Criteria for IISER Kolkata Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

Senior Superintendent

Master’s Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade, plus at least 5 years' experience in Pay Level-6 or above as Junior Superintendent or equivalent in relevant Administrative, finance/accounting, academic, legal, statutory, audit, stores/purchase or establishment work in eligible institutions.

Counsellor

Master's Degree with 50% in Psychology (Clinical/Counselling) or Social Work (Medical & Psychiatric) with practical experience, plus 5 years' counselling experience involving students' academic, psychosocial and emotional issues.

Junior Engineer (Civil)

Either first-class Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years' relevant field experience, or first-class Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 8 years' relevant field experience, preferably involving CPWD/PWD/Government norms.

Nursing Assistant

B.Sc. (Nursing), 4-year course, from a recognized Institute/University, with Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council registration and 5 years' clinical experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital organization.

Jr. Office Assistant (MS)

Bachelor’s Degree with 50% in any discipline, excellent Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency and 4 years' relevant office experience.

Jr. Assistant (MS)

Bachelor’s Degree with 50% in any discipline, excellent office-application proficiency and 3 years' relevant experience in office practices/hospitality/catering.

Attendant

Matriculation or three-year Diploma in a relevant field, plus 3 years' relevant experience in the laboratory, academic, research, IT/networking, audio-visual, CCTV, cooking/catering or other areas specified in the notice.

Age Limit

• Upper age is post-specific: 38, 40, 35, 33, 33, 30 and 32 years respectively.
• Crucial date for age, qualification and experience: 19 September 2026.
• Age relaxation applies according to Government of India norms.
• The notification states no upper age limit for IISER Kolkata employees, subject to the stated service requirement.

IISER Kolkata Non-Teaching Salary Structure 2026

The notification states that allowances/benefits are admissible to Central Government employees posted in Kolkata. Appointees are covered under the New Pension Scheme and may receive Medical, LTC and other benefits under applicable Institute/Government norms.

Selection Process for IISER Kolkata Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

1. Stage 1: Online application screening by the Institute-level Scrutiny Committee.
2. Stage 2: Qualifying Computer Skill Test and/or Trade Test, where applicable.
3. Stage 3: Written Test of 100 marks.
4. Final selection is based on merit in the written test.

Scheme of Examination and Syllabus

The written examination carries 100 marks: Part-A General – 50 marks and Part-B Specialization – 50 marks. The indicative syllabus for each position is available on the Institute website. Computer Skill/Trade Tests, where conducted, are qualifying shortlisting stages and their marks are not carried forward.

Registration and Examination Fee

The non-refundable total fee is ₹500, consisting of ₹450 application fee and ₹50 registration fee. SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen/Transgender candidates are exempt from the ₹450 application fee but must pay ₹50 registration fee. The fee is not refundable. Candidates applying for more than one post must apply separately and pay the applicable fee for each post.
