Educational Qualification

• Clinical and Non-Clinical departments: Medical PG degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from an MCI/NMC recognized institution. For Medical Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry or Medical Physiology, an M.Sc. with Ph.D. in the subject is also accepted.
• Super Specialty: DM/MCh/DNB in the concerned subject, or MD/MS/DNB qualified graduates in the concerned broad specialty.
• Candidates must be registered with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council.
• Candidates on bond are not eligible. A bond clearance certificate from the appointing authority is required from those who have completed the compulsory post-PG bond service.
• Candidates who have already completed 3 years as Senior Resident in a Government institution need not apply.
• Senior Residents currently working in a Government institution can apply after obtaining a NOC from their institute. The total period must not exceed 3 years.

Age Limit (As on the Date of Interview)

• Upper age limit: 45 Years for broad specialties
• Upper age limit: 50 Years for Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology
• Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government rules in force
• Age, experience and other criteria are determined as on the date of the walk-in interview of the concerned department

ESIC Joka Senior Resident Salary and Benefits 2026

Senior Residents (Clinical and Non-Clinical) will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹1,50,294 per month.

• Transport allowance and DA on transport allowance as per rules
• For non-medical candidates, Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) is deducted from the consolidated remuneration
• Remuneration will be revised as per ESIC Headquarters orders whenever DA rates are revised by the Government of India
• Residential accommodation is provided subject to availability; no HRA is allowed if accommodation is provided
• Private practice of any kind is not allowed
• No TA/DA is admissible for joining or any other purpose

Selection Process for ESIC Joka Senior Resident 2026

1. Document verification at the Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka
2. Screening test (only if the turnout is more than 10 candidates per post), consisting of multiple-choice questions in the concerned discipline
3. Walk-in interview

Performance in the interview is the sole criterion for selection. Marks in the screening test are not linked to final selection. The panel remains valid for 3 months from the date of publication of the result and may be cancelled earlier without any reason.

Scheme of Examination and Syllabus

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Selection is through a walk-in interview. If more than 10 candidates per post report, the competent authority may conduct a screening test of multiple-choice questions in the concerned discipline. No syllabus has been published in the notification.

Registration and Examination Fee

• Pay by Demand Draft in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1', drawn on any scheduled bank and payable at Kolkata
• The Demand Draft must be issued after the date of this advertisement and submitted with the application form at the time of document verification
• Fee once paid is non-refundable, and payment by any other mode is not accepted

How to Apply for ESIC Joka Senior Resident Recruitment 2026?

There is no online application. Candidates must attend the walk-in interview on the scheduled date and carry the following:

1. Application Form (Annexure I) and Verification Slip (Annexure II), given with the notification
2. Originals and one set of self-attested copies of the NMC/State Medical Council registration and educational certificates from Matriculation onwards
3. Experience certificate (if any) and proof of age (Matriculation certificate or Admit Card)
4. Caste or category certificate in the updated Government of India format (for SC, ST, OBC and EWS)
5. Bond clearance certificate (if applicable) and 2 recent passport size photographs
6. Demand Draft for the application fee (if applicable)
7. Report between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM at the Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka. Candidates reporting after 10:30 AM will not be considered

Important Terms and Conditions

• The contract is for 1 year initially and can be extended up to 3 years based on satisfactory performance
• Either party can terminate the contract with one month's notice. A resigning candidate must give one month's notice or pay one month's remuneration in lieu
• Selected candidates must execute a contract on a Rs. 100 stamp paper, the cost of which is borne by the candidate
• A refundable security deposit of ₹32,000 must be paid by Demand Draft in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1' at the time of joining. It is not refunded if the candidate leaves before the engagement ends
• Senior Residents must attend emergency duties and round-the-clock floor duties in shifts as assigned
• The post is purely contractual and does not confer any right to confirmation or continuation
