    The Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Government of India Public Sector Enterprise with Mini Ratna Category-1 status, has released Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT for recruitment of Managers and Junior Executives in various disciplines.     AAI states that the vacancy figures are tentative and may increase or decrease at its discretion. The notification also includes PwBD vacancies, including some unfilled PwBD vacancies from previous recruitment.

    Eligibility Criteria for AAI Recruitment 2026

    Educational Qualification and Experience

    The required qualification varies by post. Manager (Engineering-Civil) requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Civil with 3 years of post-qualification Civil Engineering experience. Manager (Engineering-Electrical) requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical with 3 years of relevant experience.

    Manager (Finance) requires MBA/PG Diploma in Management with Finance specialization, Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst, along with 3 years of post-qualification experience in Finance and Accounts including ERP/SAP experience. Manager (Information Technology) accepts a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or Electronics, or MCA, with 3 years of relevant experience in the specified IT areas.

    Manager (Architecture) requires a full-time Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and registration with the Council of Architecture, with 3 years of relevant experience. Manager (Law) requires a professional Law degree through a 3-year regular course after graduation or a 5-year integrated regular course after 10+2, with eligibility for enrolment as an Advocate in the Bar Council of India and 3 years of relevant experience.

    Manager (Fire Services) requires a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering, with 3 years of Fire Services experience. Manager (Operations) accepts Science graduation plus a full-time regular 2-year MBA or a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with 3 years of airport operations experience.

    Manager (Commercial) requires graduation plus a full-time regular 2-year MBA with Marketing specialization or a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with 3 years of relevant Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Real Estate Leasing, Contracts or Procurement experience. Manager (Corporate Planning & Management Services) requires a postgraduate qualification in Mathematical Statistics, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Economics with Statistics, or Mathematics with Statistics, plus 3 years of relevant experience.

    Manager (Corporate Communications) requires a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or Literature (Hindi/English) and a postgraduate degree or full-time regular two-year Diploma in Journalism, Mass Media or Mass Communication, with 3 years of Corporate Communication/Public Relations experience.

    Junior Executive (Finance) requires MBA with Finance specialization, PG Diploma in Management with Finance specialization, Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst. Junior Executive (Law) requires the prescribed professional Law degree and eligibility for enrolment as an Advocate. Junior Executive (Operations) requires Science graduation plus a full-time regular 2-year MBA or a full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Junior Executive (Survey & Cartography) requires Engineering/Technology in Civil or a Master's in Geography, Remote Sensing & GIS, Geo-informatics or Geomatics.

    Qualification Rules

    • Minimum pass marks are required unless a post-specific requirement states otherwise.
    • Qualifications must be from eligible recognised universities/institutions as specified in the advertisement.
    • Recognised open/distance qualifications are considered wherever applicable.
    • Professional Law degrees must be from an institution/university recognised by the Bar Council of India.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Technology is also accepted where the advertisement specifies Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for Commercial and Operations posts.
    • For Manager posts requiring experience, only acceptable post-qualification experience meeting the advertisement's prescribed organisation and experience conditions will be counted.

    Age Limit

    • Manager: Maximum 32 years as on 07 September 2026.
    • Junior Executive: Maximum 27 years as on 07 September 2026.
    • SC/ST candidates receive 5 years' upper-age relaxation and OBC (NCL) candidates receive 3 years' relaxation.
    • PwBD candidates may receive up to 10 years' relaxation where the post is identified suitable for the relevant disability.
    • Eligible Ex-Servicemen receive the prescribed relaxation, up to a maximum of 5 years as stated in the notification.
    • Eligible regular AAI employees who have completed probation may receive up to 10 years' relaxation.
    • The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination certificate is accepted for age determination.

    AAI Salary Structure 2026

    In addition to basic pay, AAI provides Dearness Allowance, perks at 35% of basic pay, HRA and other benefits such as CPF, gratuity, social security schemes and medical benefits as per AAI rules. Eligible candidates joining from CPSEs, State PSUs or Government Departments through proper channel may receive pay protection as per DPE guidelines.

    Selection Process for AAI Recruitment 2026

    1. Computer Based Test (Objective Type) for all posts.
    2. Application Verification / subsequent tests, as applicable.
    3. Interview for Post Codes 1 to 11.
    4. For Manager (Fire Services): Physical Measurement Test, Driving Test and Physical Endurance Test before interview.
    5. Shortlisting for subsequent stages is based on CBT performance.
    6. Final/provisional selection is based on CBT and interview performance wherever applicable, subject to eligibility and qualifying applicable physical/driving tests.

    There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the CBT. The detailed syllabus is to be made available by AAI under the Syllabus section for this advertisement.

    For Manager (Airport Operations) and Junior Executive (Airport Operations), a valid Light Motor Vehicle licence is essential; temporary or learner licences are not accepted. Manager (Fire Services) candidates shortlisted for further stages must produce a valid permanent LMV licence.

    Scheme of Examination and Syllabus

    The examination for all posts is an objective-type Computer Based Test. AAI states that there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The detailed post-wise syllabus will be uploaded under the “Syllabus” section of Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT. The notification does not provide a complete question-wise marks distribution in the recruitment advertisement itself.

    Registration and Examination Fee

    • Application fee: ₹1,000, inclusive of GST.
    • Payment mode: Online only.
    • SC, ST, PwBD, Women candidates and AAI Apprentices who have successfully completed one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI are exempted from the application fee.
    • Online payment can be made through the payment methods provided in the application gateway; applicable bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate.
    • Fee once paid is not refundable, except that duplicate payments, if any, are to be refunded after the application closing date.
    • Candidates should retain the e-Receipt and application printout for future reference.

    Important Instructions for Candidates

    • Only Indian Nationals fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions can apply.
    • Age, qualification, experience and other eligibility conditions are reckoned as on 07 September 2026.
    • The final qualifying result must have been declared by the cut-off date.
    • OBC (NCL) candidates must produce the prescribed Central Government OBC (NCL) certificate issued during FY 2026-27.
    • EWS candidates must produce the prescribed EWS certificate valid for FY 2026-27.
    • SC/ST candidates must produce the prescribed caste certificate issued on or before 07 September 2026.
    • PwBD candidates must produce the required valid disability certificate issued on or before 07 September 2026.
    • Ex-Servicemen must produce the required discharge certificate.
    • Where a specialization is required but is not clearly shown in the qualification document, a specialization clarification certificate may be required.
    • Candidates applying for multiple posts must submit separate registration and fee, where applicable, for each post.
    • Eligible candidates requiring scribe/compensatory time must indicate it in the online application and follow the prescribed medical certificate requirements. Compensatory time, where applicable, is 20 minutes per hour of examination.
    • Electronic communication devices such as mobile phones are prohibited in examination/interview areas.
