Eligibility Criteria for Bank of Baroda Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution. The qualification must be recognized by the Government of India or the relevant government/regulatory bodies.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years for General category candidates
• Age is calculated as on 1 August 2026.
• Upper-age relaxation is available for eligible SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD and specified Ex-Servicemen categories as per the notification.

Work Experience

A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India is mandatory. Clerical-cadre experience is not counted for this requirement.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language of the State they apply for. Candidates who studied the specified local language in Class 10 or 12 and can produce the relevant marksheet/certificate are exempt from the Local Language Proficiency Test.

Bank of Baroda Local Bank Officer Salary Structure 2026

The post is placed in JMG/S-I with the basic pay scale of ₹48,480 – ₹85,920. Selected candidates will also receive applicable allowances, benefits, perquisites and facilities under the prevailing banking-sector settlement and Bank policies. One advance increment is available for candidates having one year or more of eligible officer experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank.

Job Location and Posting

Selected candidates will initially be posted within the State for which they applied for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier. After that period, they may be posted to any Bank branch or office or any place in India at the Bank's discretion.

Probation and Service Bond

• Probation period: 12 months of active service from the date of joining.
• Selected candidates must execute a service bond under the Bank's prevailing policies.
• The notification states a current requirement to serve for at least 3 years or pay an amount equal to three months' gross salary, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, if leaving before completion of three years. The Bank may revise these terms.
