Educational Qualification

The notification specifies that qualifications must be in First Class and must be from a recognised University in the relevant discipline or an accepted equivalent branch/field. Depending on the applicable criterion, candidates may qualify through B.E./B.Tech with a valid GATE score, M.E./M.Tech from IIT/NIT, B.Sc. plus M.Sc. with a valid GATE/NET score, B.E./B.Tech with M.E./M.Tech, B.E./B.Tech with two years of relevant experience, B.Sc. plus M.Sc. with two years of relevant experience, or B.E./B.Tech.

Discipline-wise Eligibility

Computer Science Engineering: Information Science / Information Technology are accepted equivalent fields.

Electronics & Communication Engineering: Electronics, Telecommunication, and Electronics & Instrumentation are accepted equivalent fields.

Aeronautical Engineering: Aerospace is the accepted equivalent field.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering: Electrical, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Power Electronics are accepted equivalent fields.

Mechanical Engineering: Production / Industrial Production are accepted equivalent fields.

Metallurgy Engineering: Material Science is the accepted equivalent field.

Civil Engineering: Structural is the accepted equivalent field.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 28 years.
• Age relaxation is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates as per applicable rules.
• Qualification and age are determined with reference to the registration closing date, 13 August 2026.

Nationality

Only Indian Nationals can apply.

ADA Project Assistant-I Stipend / Salary 2026

The engagement carries a monthly stipend plus HRA as per rules:

• ₹31,000 per month + HRA for candidates having only B.E./B.Tech (First Class).
• ₹37,000 per month + HRA for all other eligible candidates.

Selection Process for ADA Project Assistant-I 2026

1. Online registration.
2. Discipline and eligibility-based consideration as specified in Table-A.
3. For specified criteria, shortlisting through a written test followed by interview.
4. For specified higher-qualification/GATE/NET criteria, interview-only selection as mentioned in Table-A.
5. Document verification at the time of interview.

The written test and interview will be conducted in Bangalore. Only registered candidates will be permitted to appear. Registration itself is not the application, and candidates must report with the duly filled application form and required supporting documents.

Scheme of Examination and Syllabus

The written examination will have the same syllabus as GATE and will include negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates are advised to bring a scientific calculator for the written test. The notification does not provide a separate question-paper pattern or detailed marks distribution.

Registration and Examination Fee

The notification provides instructions for online registration through ada.gov.in, but it does not specify any registration or examination fee. Candidates should refer to the official ADA website for the applicable registration instructions.

Tenure and Other Important Conditions

• The Project Assistant-I engagement is initially for two years.
• The tenure may be extended for a further two years, one year at a time, subject to satisfactory performance after assessment by the Review Committee.
• The tenure engagement does not confer any right for continuation beyond the tenure, absorption or regularisation in ADA.
• ADA may operate the panel flexibly between disciplines for available and future anticipated vacancies for a period of six months, based on its requirements.
• Government department, PSU or Autonomous Body employees must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
• Candidates must bring their original Aadhaar Card.
• Electronic items such as mobile phones, pen drives and smart watches are prohibited inside the ADA campus / written-test venue.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview.
• Part-time experience, apprenticeship training, training periods, teaching experience and experience as a trainee will not be counted towards the required years of experience.
• False information, misrepresentation or misconduct can result in cancellation of candidature and suitable legal action.

3. Submit the registration on or before 13 August 2026 up to 5:00 PM.
