Eligibility Criteria for MECL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification
Qualifications vary by post: Accountant requires a Graduate degree with Intermediate CA/ICWA; Technicians require ITI/Diploma in Survey, B.Sc., or B.Sc. in Chemistry/Physics/Geology depending on the stream; Assistants require a Graduate degree (Materials, Accounts, HR) or a relevant IT degree/diploma (Assistant IT); Stenographer requires a Graduate degree with Shorthand certification (80 wpm in English); Electrician, Machinist, Mechanic and Mechanic-cum-Operator require an ITI Certificate or Diploma in the relevant trade along with a valid Wireman/HMV License where specified; Junior Driver requires 10Th Class pass with a valid LMV and HMV License. Relevant post-qualification experience (where required) is detailed post-wise in the official notification.
Age Limit (As on 01.09.2026)
- Maximum Age for all posts: 30 Years for UR/EWS candidates
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10/13/15 years for PwBD (General/OBC-NCL/SC-ST respectively), and as per Government of India guidelines for Ex-Servicemen
MECL Non-Executive Salary Structure 2026
- Accountant (W-7): ₹22,900 – ₹55,900 (IDA Scale)
- All W-4 Grade posts (Technician, Assistant, Stenographer, Electrician, Machinist, Mechanic): ₹20,200 – ₹49,300 (IDA Scale)
- Junior Driver (W-3): ₹19,600 – ₹47,900 (IDA Scale)
- Plus other benefits: IDA, HRA, Perks & Allowances, PF, Group Performance Related Incentive, Group Medical Insurance, MECL-Employee Defined Contributory Superannuation Scheme (NPS), Group Personal Accident Insurance, Term Insurance, Vehicle Loan and House Building Advance
Selection Process for MECL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026
- Screening of online applications as Eligible/Not Eligible
- Written Competitive Examination (100% weightage)
- Document Verification (called in the ratio of up to 1:7 per vacancy, in merit order)
- Skill Test / Trade Test (qualifying in nature)
- Final Merit List based on Written Test marks

The minimum qualifying marks in the essential qualification for all posts is 45% for direct recruitment (a pass is sufficient for Intermediate CA/ICWA and similar certifications). The Written Test will be conducted at Nagpur by an Independent External Agency notified as a Public Examination Authority.
Registration and Examination Fee
Application registration fee of ₹500/- is payable by General/OBC/EWS candidates through the online payment gateway. The fee is not applicable for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Serviceman/Departmental candidates.
