    RRB JE Recruitment 2026 – Junior Engineer & Depot Material Superintendent Apply Online

    The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have released CEN No. 04/2026 for various Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts. A total of 3,993 vacancies are notified across all RRBs. Eligible candidates can apply online from 14 August 2026 to 13 September 2026. Selection comprises CBT-I, CBT-II, Document Verification and Medical Examination.

    Eligibility Criteria for RRB JE Recruitment 2026

    Educational Qualification

    Qualification varies according to the post. Candidates must possess the prescribed educational/Technical/professional qualification from a recognized Institute/University on or before 13 September 2026. Candidates awaiting the final result of the prescribed qualification are not eligible.

    JE posts require the relevant prescribed three-year Diploma, B.Sc. in Civil Engineering where specified, or the applicable engineering qualification in disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Instrumentation & Control, Tools & Die Making, Communication, Computer Science and Information Technology, depending on the post.

    Depot Material Superintendent Qualification

    DMS requires a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution. Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are accepted in lieu of the three-year Diploma in Engineering in the same discipline, as specified in the CEN.

    Selection Process for RRB JE Recruitment 2026

    1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I)
    2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II)
    3. Document Verification (DV)
    4. Medical Examination (ME)

    CBT-I is a screening test for shortlisting candidates for CBT-II. DV shortlisting is based on normalized CBT-II marks, merit and options. Empanelment is subject to successful document verification and prescribed medical fitness.

    CBT-I syllabus: Mathematics covers number systems, BODMAS, decimals, fractions, LCM/HCF, ratio, percentage, mensuration, time/work, time/distance, interest, profit/loss, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, square root, age, calendar/clock and pipes/cisterns. Reasoning includes analogies, series, coding-decoding, relationships, syllogism, Venn diagrams, data interpretation, analytical reasoning, classification, directions, statements, arguments and assumptions. General Awareness includes current affairs, geography, culture, history, polity, economy, environment, sports and science/technology. General Science covers Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences up to 10th-standard CBSE level.

    CBT-II syllabus: General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry up to 10th-standard CBSE level, computer fundamentals, environment and pollution control, and technical abilities based on the applicable Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Civil Exam Group syllabus in Annexure-VIII.

    Negative Marking and Qualifying Marks

    1/3 mark of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for every wrong answer.

    Refund is available only to candidates who appear in CBT-I. Fee payment is online through internet banking, debit/credit card or UPI.

    Medical Examination

    Candidates called for DV must pass the prescribed Railway medical fitness test for the opted post. The CEN includes A-3, B-1 and C-1 standards with post-specific visual requirements. A candidate medically unsuitable for the opted post will not be given an alternative appointment.

    2. Create an RRB account or use existing credentials from an earlier RRB CEN.
    3. Use an active personal mobile number and email ID.
    4. Authenticate identity through DigiLocker/Aadhaar as advised.
    5. Select only one RRB and enter eligible post/Railway Zone preferences.
    6. Enter personal, educational and category details carefully.
    7. Complete live photo capture and upload the required signature/documents.
    8. Submit the application and pay the applicable fee online.
    9. Save the registration number, submitted form and payment confirmation.

    Multiple applications to different RRBs or the same RRB can lead to rejection and debarment.
