    Vacancies are provisional and may be increased or decreased according to the Bank's requirements. Post Code 01 is the Generalist Officer post; the other posts are Specialist Officer posts.

    Eligibility Criteria for IOB Officer Recruitment 2026

    Nationality / Citizenship

    Eligible candidates include Indian citizens and the other categories specified in the notification, including eligible subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, certain Tibetan refugees and specified persons of Indian origin, subject to the required Government of India eligibility certificate where applicable.

    Educational Qualification

    Eligibility is post-specific and is calculated as on 01 August 2026. Prescribed qualifications include graduation, B.E./B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., M.Tech/M.E., MBA/PGDM, CA or CMA depending on the post.

    • Branch Management: Graduation in any discipline plus 3 years as an Officer in a Scheduled Public Sector or Private Sector Bank, including at least 2 years in Branch Banking.
    • IT: B.E./B.Tech in the prescribed CS/IT/Electronics disciplines, MCA or M.Sc. Computer Science/IT, plus 5 years IT experience including 3 years in Banking/BFSI and one prescribed technology-domain experience.
    • Information Security / IS Audit: Prescribed B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech/MCA qualifications with the post-specific security/audit experience and domain requirements.
    • Senior Manager IT: Prescribed B.E./B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc. qualification plus 8 years IT experience including 5 years in Banking/BFSI; CISA/CISSP/ISO 27001:LA/OSCP is mandatory.
    • Senior Manager Information Security / IS Audit: Prescribed engineering/postgraduate qualifications with the required 5-year experience and listed security/audit domains.
    • Database Administrator: Prescribed B.E./B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc. qualification plus 8 years database experience, including 5 years production database administration and 3 years Banking/BFSI; OCA or OCP is mandatory.
    • Network Administrator: Prescribed B.E./B.Tech, M.Tech or MCA plus 5 years network-operations experience including security using Cisco FTD and Check Point; specified CCNA/CCSE certification is mandatory.
    • Cyber Security Administrator: Prescribed B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech plus 5 years experience in any two listed cyber-security domains.
    • Credit: Bachelor's degree with MBA Finance/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS Finance, or CA/CMA, plus 3 years experience for Manager and 6 years for Senior Manager, with prescribed Credit experience.
    • Risk: Graduation with the prescribed finance/risk postgraduate qualification or specified GARP/PRMIA certification, plus 5 years relevant banking/NBFC/financial-institution experience.
    • Security: Graduation plus the prescribed computer/IT qualification and the specified retired JCO/paramilitary/police service background with minimum 5 years relevant service.

    DA, HRA, CCA and other applicable benefits are provided as per Bank rules. Eligible laterally recruited Specialist Officers in MMGS II and III may also receive facilities such as conveyance expenses, newspaper cost, telephone/mobile expenses, residential furniture and bank-owned or leased accommodation, subject to Bank guidelines.

    Selection Process for IOB Officer Recruitment 2026

    1. Preliminary screening/shortlisting based on qualification, experience and profile, where applicable.
    2. Online Examination.
    3. Personal Interview for candidates qualifying the Online Examination.
    4. Document, eligibility, character, antecedent and applicable category verification.
    5. Medical fitness assessment as required by the Bank.

    The final merit list gives 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% to the Interview.

    • Professional Knowledge varies by post.
    • No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for English Language and General Awareness sections.
    • Minimum qualifying marks in the Online Examination are 35% for unreserved candidates and 30% for reserved candidates.
    • One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer; there is no penalty for an unattended question.
    • The Interview is for 100 marks, with minimum qualifying marks of 50% for unreserved and 45% for reserved candidates.

    Probation, Bond and Posting

    • Branch Management Scale II: 6 months probation.
    • Assistant Manager – Security JMGS I: 2 years probation.
    • All other posts: 1 year probation.
    • JMGS I appointees must execute a ₹2,00,000 bond and serve at least 3 years active service.
    • MMGS II/III appointees must execute a ₹2,50,000 bond and serve at least 3 years active service.
    • Selected candidates may be posted or transferred anywhere in India according to Bank requirements.
